A beginner's guide to growing and caring for succulents indoors
Light, soil and a watering rhythm: the three things that keep succulents plump and colourful.

Succulents are sold as easy, and they are, once you give them the two things they cannot do without: bright light and a proper dry spell.
Water less than you think
Soak the pot, let it drain, and wait until the soil is completely dry before the next drink. In winter that can mean once a month.
- Bright, indirect light suits most of them.
- Water when the top few centimetres of soil are dry.
- Feed once a month from spring to late summer.
